Kathryn Kranen To Accept Prestigious Marie R. Pistilli Women in EDA Achievement Award at DAC 2005

Inspirational CEO Acknowledged for Her Exemplary EDA Industry Contributions and Motivational Spirit

Mountain View, Calif. - May 9, 2005 - Jasper Design Automation, provider of breakthrough high-level formal verification solutions, today announced that Kathryn Kranen, Jasper president and CEO, will be presented with the prestigious Marie R. Pistilli Women in EDA Achievement Award on June 13th, during DAC's Annual Workshop for Women in EDA (WWINDA). The annual award, named for Marie Pistilli, DAC's former leading event organizer, has served to honor and recognize outstanding contributions to the ongoing advancement of women in EDA. Kranen was selected from a field of outstanding nominees with exemplary educational, professional and personal EDA industry achievements.

With more than 15 years of industry experience and a proven track record for leading and ramping successful EDA companies, Kathryn Kranen is a natural choice for the prestigious achievement award. Before assuming the helm at Jasper, she launched Verisity, in her capacity as president and CEO of Verisity Design, Inc. Verisity later became a public company and was recognized as the top-performing IPO of 2001. Prior to Verisity, Ms. Kranen rose rapidly through the sales ranks at Quickturn Systems, pioneer of the $100M microprocessor emulation market, and eventually held the position of vice president of North American Sales. Her career began as a design engineer at Rockwell International after graduating summa cum laude from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in electrical engineering.

Kathryn's boundless spirit - together with her "can do" attitude and impressive history of personal and professional excellence - has inspired many men and women in the electronics industry to find the courage to bring about positive change.

"I've worked with, and carefully hand-picked, some excellent executives over the years, but Kathryn is a true stand-out, even in a crowd of super-star performers," said Mike Schuh, Jasper board member and principal at Foundation Capital. "She has managed to build cohesive and synergistic teams that led to EDA serial successes - something only a very limited few can ever claim."

"I am deeply honored to receive this prestigious achievement award," said Kathryn. "Over the years, I've known gifted and visionary individuals who served as a source of early inspiration for me. At various stages of my career, I made the choice to strive to do what was 'right' - be it for my customer or my company - rather than looking to artificial goals, milestones or personal ambitions. When individuals have the courage to focus on doing what's right for the customer and the business, regardless of perceived boundaries or limitations, then great things happen and personal rewards follow.

Kathryn will accept her award at the annual Workshop for Women in EDA which takes place in room 207 AB on Monday, June 13, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The mission of this respected workshop, is to be of relevance to women in Electronic Design Automation, to provide a forum for the interchange of ideas for successful careers in the EDA profession, to address the particular needs of professional women and to provide an opportunity for peer networking.

Kathryn will also participate in a DAC Pavilion Panel on Tuesday, June 14, from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm in booth 2269, entitled, "A Conversation with the 2005 Recipient of the Marie R. Pistilli Women in EDA Achievement Award". Further details about this panel, the achievement award and WWINDA can be found at: www.dac.com.

About Jasper Design Automation
Jasper Design Automation is a privately-held Electronic Design Automation (EDA) company with a mission of making full formal IC verification a competitive advantage for its customers. The company's flagship product, JasperGold® Verification System, is the first verification product to deliver 100% actual coverage, and accomplishes this task within predictable, finite schedule constraints. JasperGold Verification System formally verifies that complex IC design blocks meet high-level requirements defined in their specifications, without any testbench development. JasperGold Verification System automatically isolates bugs with a unique, fast debugging capability. By isolating bugs earlier than simulation or formal-assisted simulation tools, and then proving the absence of bugs, JasperGold Verification System trims crucial months off design schedules.
