Jasper Design Automation Secures $13.5 Million In Series C Funding

Funding Enables Worldwide Sales and Support Expansion

Mountain View, Calif. - June 7, 2004 - Jasper Design Automation, provider of breakthrough high-level formal verification solutions for Provably Correct Design, today announced that it has raised $13.5 Million in a Series C round of funding led by Accel Partners. Theresia Gouw Ranzetta, general partner with Accel Partners, will join the board of directors. Together with the two previous rounds, this brings Jasper's total funding to $20.6 Million.

The new funds will be used to expand Jasper's sales and support staff worldwide and for company operations.

"Accel Partners is a top tier venture firm with $3 Billion under management. They have a very impressive success record, a long-term strategic focus, and broad relationships in the system and semiconductor industries", said Kathryn Kranen, President and CEO of Jasper Design Automation. "I know that Theresia and Accel will bring great value to Jasper as we grow."

"In conducting our due diligence on Jasper, the feedback we heard from customers was extremely compelling," said Theresia Gouw Ranzetta. "We view functional verification as the largest potential growth area in EDA, and believe Jasper is well-positioned to define a whole new category and become a major EDA player."

Both previous institutional investors participated in this third round of funding; Cambrian Ventures from the Series A funding, and Foundation Capital from series B.

Returning investor, Mike Schuh, general partner with Foundation Capital said, "The company has made dramatic achievements over the past year in product capabilities, company infrastructure, and market momentum. I am delighted with the terrific outcome of Jasper's C-round fund-raising efforts, and look forward to once again working with Theresia Ranzetta of Accel Partners. She is a seasoned investor with great insights and a supportive style."

About Jasper Design Automation
Founded in 1999, Jasper Design Automation is a privately-held Electronic Design Automation (EDA) company headquartered in Mountain View, CA. Enabling the first Provably Correct Design, Jasper's static block-level verification solution for RTL designs uses state-of-the-art formal verification technology to exhaustively verify functional behaviors of RTL blocks without simulation or test vectors. JasperGold Verification System analyzes a block against high-level requirements derived from the micro-architecture spec, and either isolates bugs that cause the requirements to fail, or proves the requirements true for all legal input sequences. Pre-verified, bug-free blocks are then integrated into system-level verification trimming months off the verification schedule.
